Senior REST API Developer – Service Reliability Delivery

About the role

Orbit Labs is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a REST API Developer for tightening authentication, encryption, and audit logging across our services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement secure REST endpoints using NodeJS
• Integrate JWT, OAuth2, and role‑based access controls
• Conduct threat modeling and code reviews focused on API surface
• Optimize PostgreSQL queries for least‑privilege data access
• Document security patterns and create automated test suites

Must-have skills

• Proven experience building production‑grade REST APIs
• Deep knowledge of NodeJS, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL
• Hands‑on experience with API security standards (OWASP, OAuth2, JWT)
• Ability to work independently in a remote, project‑based setting

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) security services
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated security testing
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
