About the role

CloudWave Digital is launching a new platform and needs a Microservices Architect to lead a test automation uplift. The focus is to reduce regression risk before each release by designing resilient, observable services and integrating automated tests into the CI pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve microservice boundaries to support scalable test automation.
• Implement Docker‑based test environments and Kubernetes orchestration for parallel execution.
• Collaborate with QA leads to embed contract‑based testing into service contracts.
• Define monitoring and alerting strategies to catch flaky tests early.
• Mentor the development team on best practices for testable microservice design.

Must-have skills

• Deep experience architecting Java‑based microservices.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and integration testing.
• Ability to translate business risk into technical safeguards.

Nice to have

• Experience with consumer‑driven contract testing tools.
• Familiarity with performance testing in distributed systems.
• Knowledge of cloud‑native observability platforms.
