About the role

Harbor Softworks is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a MongoDB Specialist to redesign data models, tune queries, and implement robust sharding strategies that sustain high traffic loads.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing MongoDB schemas and identify bottlenecks
• Redesign collections for optimal read/write patterns
• Implement indexing, aggregation pipelines, and sharding as needed
• Set up monitoring, alerts, and automated backup procedures
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate optimized data access

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of production MongoDB experience
• Strong command of JavaScript, NodeJS, and JSON data structures
• Proficiency in performance tuning, indexing, and replica set configuration
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database migrations

Nice to have

• Familiarity with React front‑ends consuming MongoDB APIs
• Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes for database containers
• Understanding of security best practices for data at rest and in transit
