REST API Developer for Production Third-Party Integrations

About the role

We are launching a brand‑new SaaS platform and need a REST API Developer to shape the core services from scratch. You will work in a fully remote, greenfield environment, collaborating with product, UI/UX, and DevOps teammates to deliver a high‑performance backend.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable RESTful endpoints using NodeJS
• Model and query data in PostgreSQL, ensuring optimal performance
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests for API reliability
• Define API contracts and documentation for internal and external consumers
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements

Must-have skills

• Proven experience building production‑grade REST APIs
• Strong command of NodeJS and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization
• Familiarity with authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth, JWT)
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote‑first team

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of GraphQL as a complementary API layer
• Background in event‑driven architectures or message queues
