Senior PostgreSQL Administrator Needed for Schema Modernization

About the role

Ridgeline Software is launching a brand‑new SaaS product from the ground up. We need a seasoned PostgreSQL Administrator to design, implement, and tune the database layer that will power our core services.

Key responsibilities

• Architect a highly available PostgreSQL cluster for a greenfield environment
• Develop automated provisioning scripts and CI pipelines for schema migrations
• Implement performance monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning
• Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize queries and data models
• Document standards, backup procedures, and disaster‑recovery plans

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production SaaS workloads
• Deep knowledge of replication, sharding, and partitioning strategies
• Proficiency with Linux, Bash, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools
• Experience integrating PostgreSQL with MongoDB and MySQL ecosystems

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud‑native services (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL)
• Exposure to Terraform or Ansible for database provisioning
