About the role

NovaForge Tech is revamping a legacy production platform and needs a Database Administrator to ensure zero‑downtime migration and ongoing performance tuning. You will work closely with engineers to modernize data pipelines while maintaining strict availability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement migration strategies for legacy databases to cloud‑native services
• Monitor and fine‑tune query performance during live traffic
• Automate backup, recovery, and replication processes
• Collaborate with developers to refactor schema for micro‑service compatibility
• Document changes and provide knowledge transfer to the ops team

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL administration
• Proficiency in MongoDB and MySQL environments
• Hands‑on with replication, sharding, and high‑availability setups
• Familiarity with zero‑downtime deployment techniques

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of infrastructure‑as‑code tools
• Background in CI/CD pipeline integration for databases
