About the role

Northbay Systems is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a Java Developer to shape the core backend from day one. You will join a remote‑first, fast‑moving team focused on building scalable microservices that power the new platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test Java‑based microservices using Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate requirements into clean, maintainable code.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines and automated tests to ensure rapid, reliable releases.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot production issues.

Must-have skills

• Strong Java expertise (3+ years) and solid understanding of OOP.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and building RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in developing and deploying microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Understanding of event‑driven design and messaging systems.
