About the role
Northbay Systems is launching a critical product and needs a PHP Developer to lead a test automation uplift. The goal is to embed robust automated regression suites that cut manual testing time and lower launch risk. You will work closely with QA leads and product owners to define coverage and integrate tools into the CI pipeline.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement PHP‑based test scripts for core application flows
- Integrate Selenium/WebDriver with Laravel test suites
- Collaborate with DevOps to embed tests in CI/CD pipelines
- Document test cases, results, and maintenance procedures
- Identify flaky tests and improve stability
Must-have skills
- Strong PHP development experience (3+ years)
- Proficiency with Laravel framework
- Hands‑on MySQL database knowledge
- Experience building automated tests (PHPUnit, Codeception)
- Familiarity with CI tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Selenium or Cypress for UI testing
- Exposure to Docker containerization
- Understanding of API testing with Postman or similar
