About the role

We are modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. As a Python Backend Developer you will help redesign core services, improve performance, and ensure zero‑downtime deployments while working part‑time on a remote schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor monolithic Python code into clean, testable modules
• Design and implement high‑throughput REST APIs using Django
• Integrate PostgreSQL migrations with zero‑downtime strategies
• Write unit and integration tests to safeguard existing functionality
• Collaborate with DevOps to automate blue‑green releases

Must-have skills

• Strong Python experience, preferably with Django
• Deep understanding of REST API design and best practices
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization
• Familiarity with zero‑downtime deployment patterns

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker or container orchestration
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
