About the role
Summit Digital is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay live 24/7. We need an Android Developer to redesign core app components, improve performance, and integrate new APIs while ensuring zero‑downtime deployments.
Key responsibilities
- Refactor legacy Kotlin/Java codebase for scalability
- Implement feature flags and canary releases to avoid service interruption
- Collaborate with backend engineers to align API contracts
- Write unit and UI tests to maintain high reliability
- Monitor app health and resolve production incidents quickly
Must-have skills
- 5+ years Android development experience
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java
- Deep understanding of Android architecture components
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and zero‑downtime strategies
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Jetpack Compose
- Knowledge of modern networking libraries (Retrofit, OkHttp)
- Experience with performance profiling tools
