About the role

Pinecrest Systems is launching a brand‑new SaaS platform to serve distributed enterprises. As a Senior Data Engineer you will build the data backbone for this greenfield product, enabling real‑time analytics and scalable pipelines for a remote‑first team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement an end‑to‑end ELT pipeline using Python and Airflow to ingest event streams from the new "Nimbus Tracker" module.
• Provision and tune Amazon Redshift and PostgreSQL clusters on AWS for high‑throughput batch loads.
• Develop automated data validation tests with Great Expectations and integrate them into CI/CD.
• Collaborate with product owners to define schema evolution strategy for the upcoming "Pulse Dashboard".
• Set up monitoring and alerting for data jobs using CloudWatch and Grafana.
• Document pipeline architecture and hand‑off procedures for future sprint teams.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of Python development for data pipelines.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL schema design.
• Proficiency in AWS services (S3, Redshift, Lambda, CloudWatch).
• Hands‑on with Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Strong SQL optimization and data modeling abilities.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with dbt for transformation layer.
• Experience building real‑time streaming pipelines with Kafka.
