About the role

Orbit Labs is expanding a B2B SaaS product with a new multi‑tenant capability. We need a Database Administrator to design, implement, and fine‑tune the data layer that will support isolated tenant data while preserving performance and security.

Key responsibilities

• Architect schema changes for multi‑tenant isolation across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL.
• Implement automated migration scripts and version control for database changes.
• Monitor performance, conduct capacity planning, and optimize queries for high‑volume tenant workloads.
• Set up backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery procedures tailored to tenant data segregation.
• Collaborate with dev and product teams to define data models that meet feature requirements.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production.
• Deep understanding of multi‑tenant architecture patterns.
• Proficiency with database automation tools (Flyway, Liquibase, etc.).
• Strong SQL tuning and indexing expertise.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos DB).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
• Knowledge of security best practices for tenant data isolation.
