About the role

Pinecrest Systems is preparing a major app store launch and needs a Database Administrator to align mobile and backend data layers. This project‑based role focuses on ensuring data consistency, performance, and scalability for the upcoming release.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement schema changes that support mobile data sync patterns
• Optimize queries and indexes for high‑throughput API endpoints
• Set up automated backups, replication, and failover mechanisms
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define data contracts and versioning
• Monitor database health and resolve performance bottlenecks quickly

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production
• Proven track record of performance tuning for high‑volume workloads
• Strong understanding of mobile data synchronization and offline strategies
• Ability to write clear documentation and communicate with cross‑functional teams

Nice to have

• Experience with containerized database deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database migrations
