About the role

Orbit Labs is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a GraphQL API Developer to redesign core endpoints, improve latency, and ensure fault‑tolerant operation across our stack.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑throughput GraphQL schemas for existing services
• Refactor resolvers to reduce response times and memory usage
• Integrate caching layers and rate‑limiting mechanisms
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests for API contracts
• Collaborate with front‑end and DevOps teams to align performance metrics

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building GraphQL APIs in production
• Proficiency with NodeJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Solid understanding of REST API concepts and migration patterns
• Familiarity with React data fetching patterns (e.g., Apollo)
• Ability to profile and optimise server‑side performance

Nice to have

• Experience with serverless deployments or container orchestration
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
