About the role

BlueSky Ventures seeks a Microservices Architect to lead a test automation uplift, reducing regression risk before product launches. This part‑time role focuses on designing resilient microservice patterns and embedding automated testing throughout the delivery pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Define and document a scalable microservices architecture aligned with test automation goals
• Integrate automated regression suites into CI/CD pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes
• Guide the team on best practices for contract testing, mock services, and service virtualization
• Collaborate with QA leads to prioritize high‑impact test scenarios
• Monitor performance and reliability metrics, iterating on the architecture as needed

Must-have skills

• Proven experience designing microservices for enterprise applications
• Strong Java development background
• Hands‑on expertise with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
• Deep understanding of test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration

Nice to have

• Experience with contract testing tools (e.g., Pact)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana)
