About the role

BlueSky Ventures is launching a greenfield SaaS product with a remote‑first team. We need a MongoDB Specialist to design, implement, and optimize the database layer that will power our core services from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Architect scalable MongoDB schemas tailored to multi‑tenant SaaS workloads
• Set up sharding, indexing, and replication strategies for high availability
• Write data migration scripts and ensure smooth version upgrades
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate MongoDB with Node.js services
• Monitor performance, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement tuning fixes

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with MongoDB deployment, security, and performance tuning
• Proficiency in JavaScript, NodeJS, and building data‑driven APIs
• Strong understanding of JSON data modeling and aggregation pipelines
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database changes

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes for containerized databases
• Knowledge of cloud‑native services like Atlas or managed MongoDB offerings
• Background in building analytics pipelines on top of MongoDB
