About the role

NexGen Media is modernizing a legacy production platform and needs a MongoDB Specialist to ensure zero‑downtime data migrations and schema evolution. You will work closely with devops and backend teams to redesign data pipelines and optimize query performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement zero‑downtime migration strategies for existing MongoDB clusters.
• Refactor data models to support new platform features while preserving backward compatibility.
• Collaborate with application engineers to tune queries and indexes for high‑throughput workloads.
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and backup procedures aligned with production SLAs.
• Document migration processes and provide knowledge transfer to the operations team.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of MongoDB administration and performance tuning.
• Strong experience with JavaScript, React, NodeJS, HTML, CSS.
• Proven track record of zero‑downtime migrations in production.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and containerization.

Nice to have

• Experience with Atlas or other managed MongoDB services.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
• Background in event‑driven architectures.
