About the role

BlueSky Ventures is launching a new product and needs to uplift test automation for PostgreSQL databases. The goal is to reduce regression risk before launch by building reliable automated test suites and improving CI pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automated regression tests for PostgreSQL schemas and stored procedures
• Integrate test suites into existing CI/CD workflows
• Analyze flaky tests and improve stability
• Collaborate with developers to define test coverage criteria
• Document test strategies and results for stakeholders

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
• Strong experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., pgTAP, Python, Bash)
• Proficiency in CI tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Solid understanding of SQL performance tuning and schema migrations

Nice to have

• Experience with MongoDB or MySQL migrations
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) for test environments
• Knowledge of monitoring tools for database health
