About the role

CloudWave Digital is embarking on a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a seasoned PostgreSQL Administrator to design, tune, and sustain high‑throughput databases that power critical web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing PostgreSQL clusters and implement indexing, partitioning, and query‑optimisation strategies.
• Configure replication, failover, and backup solutions to guarantee 99.9% uptime.
• Automate routine maintenance with scripts and CI pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers to refactor slow queries and improve schema design.
• Monitor performance metrics and produce actionable reports.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of performance tuning, replication, and high‑availability architectures.
• Proficiency with Linux, Bash, and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience integrating PostgreSQL with MongoDB or MySQL ecosystems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and managed DB services.
• Background in containerised deployments using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Certification in PostgreSQL or related technologies.
