About the role

Pinecrest Systems is building a real‑time analytics layer that powers operational decision‑making across its logistics network. We need a Node.js Developer to create and fine‑tune the "StreamPulse" data pipeline module, enabling seamless ingestion, transformation, and visualization of high‑velocity event streams for our operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the StreamPulse ingestion service using Node.js, Kafka, and MongoDB to capture >10k events per second.
• Develop RESTful endpoints for analytics dashboards, ensuring sub‑second latency and proper pagination.
• Write unit and integration tests with Jest and SuperTest, targeting 90% coverage before each sprint.
• Collaborate with data engineers to define schema evolution strategies and implement change‑data‑capture pipelines.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions for automated linting, testing, and container deployment to AWS ECS.
• Monitor pipeline health using Prometheus alerts and Grafana dashboards, and troubleshoot bottlenecks during load testing.

Must-have skills

• Strong Node.js experience (3+ years) building high‑throughput services.
• Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+), async patterns, and TypeScript basics.
• Hands‑on knowledge of MongoDB aggregation pipelines and indexing strategies.
• Experience designing REST APIs and securing them with JWT/OAuth.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud‑native deployment workflows.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Kafka Streams or similar event streaming platforms.
• Understanding of data analytics tools like Apache Superset or Looker.
