Senior GraphQL API Developer – End-to-End API Design

About the role

LumenWorks is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a GraphQL API Developer to reinforce authentication, authorization, and data validation layers while keeping performance intact.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security‑focused GraphQL schemas and resolvers
• Integrate OAuth2 / JWT flows and enforce role‑based access control
• Audit existing endpoints for injection, over‑exposure, and rate‑limiting risks
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security checks into CI pipelines
• Document security patterns and provide guidance to the engineering team

Must-have skills

• 5+ years building production GraphQL APIs
• Deep understanding of web security standards (OWASP, CSP, CORS)
• Proficiency with NodeJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience securing REST endpoints and integrating with GraphQL gateways

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) security services
• Knowledge of automated security testing tools (Snyk, ZAP)
• Previous work on micro‑service architectures
