Senior Microservices Architect – Customer-Facing API Design

About the role

DataPro Services is modernizing a high‑traffic legacy production platform. We need a Microservices Architect to design a zero‑downtime migration strategy and lead implementation of cloud‑native services.

Key responsibilities

• Define a phased microservices decomposition plan aligned with zero‑downtime goals
• Design API contracts, data migration paths, and fallback mechanisms
• Guide containerization of existing services using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for seamless releases
• Collaborate with product and ops teams to ensure performance, security, and observability

Must-have skills

• Deep experience architecting microservices in Java
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Track record of zero‑downtime migrations for legacy systems
• Strong understanding of API design, event‑driven patterns, and cloud infrastructure

Nice to have

• Experience with Istio or service mesh technologies
• Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools
• Knowledge of monitoring stacks like Prometheus/Grafana
