About the role

BlueSky Ventures is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Microservices Architect to design resilient, zero‑trust patterns and guide the team through implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current microservice landscape and identify attack surfaces
• Define security‑by‑design standards for API gateways, service mesh, and data flow
• Architect containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes hardening best practices
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated security scans into CI/CD pipelines
• Mentor developers on secure coding in Java and threat modeling

Must-have skills

• Proven experience designing secure microservice architectures
• Deep knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Java ecosystems
• Hands‑on with authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms
• Ability to produce clear documentation and security guidelines

Nice to have

• Familiarity with service mesh tools such as Istio or Linkerd
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) security services
• Certifications in cloud security or DevSecOps
