About the role

Cascade Apps is launching a greenfield SaaS product with a fully remote‑first team. We need a Microservices Architect to define the service landscape, set standards, and guide early implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Design a modular microservice architecture that supports rapid feature rollout
• Define API contracts, data ownership, and communication patterns
• Create CI/CD pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes for automated deployments
• Establish observability, tracing, and resilience guidelines
• Mentor developers on best practices and code reviews

Must-have skills

• Proven experience architecting microservices at scale
• Deep knowledge of Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration
• Strong Java programming background
• Experience with event‑driven designs and API gateways

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud‑native services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Background in domain‑driven design
• Knowledge of security patterns for distributed systems
