About the role

NexGen Media is modernizing its content delivery platform and needs a GraphQL API Developer to lead a test automation uplift aimed at slashing regression risk before the upcoming launch. You will own the GraphQL layer for the new "PulseStream" module, ensuring robust contracts and rapid feedback cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Design and extend the PulseStream GraphQL schema to support new analytics endpoints.
• Implement end‑to‑end test suites in Cypress and Jest that validate schema contracts against mock services.
• Integrate automated regression tests into the existing GitHub Actions CI pipeline, targeting a 90% coverage threshold.
• Collaborate with the QA lead to prioritize flaky test remediation and flakiness dashboards.
• Document test scenarios and generate living API documentation using GraphQL Voyager.
• Deliver a pilot test automation framework within the first two weeks and iterate based on stakeholder feedback.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building GraphQL APIs with NodeJS.
• Proficiency in JavaScript ES6+ and REST API integration.
• Hands‑on with test frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Mocha.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, especially GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of schema stitching and resolver performance tuning.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apollo Server monitoring plugins.
• Knowledge of TypeScript for type‑safe schema definitions.
