About the role

BlueSky Ventures is building a next‑generation data platform to support real‑time analytics across its product suite. We need a Big Data Architect to design, implement, and optimize large‑scale data pipelines and storage solutions that enable rapid insight delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end data architecture on AWS, including data lakes, warehouses, and streaming layers.
• Develop scalable ETL/ELT processes using Python and orchestration tools.
• Define data modeling standards and enforce best practices for data quality and governance.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Optimize performance and cost of storage and compute resources.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Must-have skills

• Extensive experience designing big data solutions on AWS.
• Strong Python programming for data pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational data modeling.
• Proficiency with Docker containers and CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise in data warehousing concepts and technologies.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Apache Spark or Flink.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
