About the role

Northbay Systems is modernizing its legacy production platform for IoT telemetry with a zero‑downtime mandate. As an IoT Solutions Architect you will design and implement the migration strategy for the new "PulseBridge" module, ensuring seamless data flow from edge devices to cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the end‑to‑end pipeline for PulseBridge using MQTT, Kafka, and AWS IoT Core.
• Define blue‑green deployment patterns and automated rollback procedures to meet zero‑downtime targets.
• Configure Terraform‑managed networking and security groups across hybrid on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Implement observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) for real‑time performance monitoring during migration.
• Lead code reviews and knowledge‑transfer sessions for senior engineers on containerized micro‑services.
• Document migration runbooks and post‑migration validation criteria.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP) and edge‑to‑cloud architectures.
• Extensive experience with Linux system administration, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript for custom connector development.
• Strong background in REST API design and secure authentication mechanisms.
• Hands‑on Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AWS Greengrass or Azure IoT Edge.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or Jenkins.
