About the role
Ridgeline Software is building the next generation app store experience. As a Microservices Architect you will shape the backend services that power the new "PulseSync" module, ensuring seamless alignment with the upcoming mobile client release. This role focuses on designing resilient, low‑latency APIs that enable real‑time app catalog updates and user personalization.
Key responsibilities
- Design and document a microservice ecosystem for the PulseSync module using Java Spring Boot and OpenAPI specifications.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions to automate container builds and deployments to a Kubernetes cluster.
- Define service mesh policies with Istio to guarantee secure, observable communication between mobile‑frontend and backend services.
- Set up automated performance testing (JMeter) to validate latency targets before each app store release milestone.
- Collaborate with mobile engineers to create versioned API contracts that support iOS and Android clients.
- Mentor junior developers on domain‑driven design and event‑driven architecture patterns.
Must-have skills
- Extensive experience designing microservices with Java and Spring Cloud.
- Deep knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm chart management.
- Proficiency in RESTful API design, OpenAPI, and API versioning strategies.
- Strong background in performance tuning, load testing, and scalability planning.
- Hands‑on expertise with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and service mesh technologies.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with GraphQL gateways for mobile data aggregation.
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP) and managed Kubernetes services.
