About the role

We are launching a greenfield SaaS product and need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, deploy, and fine‑tune the core data layer. You will work with a remote‑first team, shaping database architecture from scratch while ensuring high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement PostgreSQL clusters for a new multi‑tenant SaaS platform
• Automate backups, monitoring, and alerting using cloud‑native tools
• Optimize queries, indexes, and partitioning for latency‑critical workloads
• Collaborate with developers to define schema evolution and migration strategies
• Document standards, runbooks, and disaster‑recovery procedures

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
• Strong grasp of replication, sharding, and high‑availability setups
• Experience with Linux, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in SQL performance tuning and capacity planning

Nice to have

• Exposure to MongoDB or MySQL for cross‑database integrations
• Familiarity with Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure as code
• Knowledge of GDPR and data‑privacy best practices
