About the role

Vertex Analytics is preparing a high‑traffic mobile app store release. We need a Database Administrator to ensure data layers are tightly aligned with backend services and mobile performance goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and tune schemas for PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MySQL supporting real‑time mobile queries
• Implement replication, sharding and backup strategies for zero‑downtime deployments
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate data APIs with the mobile SDK
• Monitor performance metrics and resolve latency issues before launch
• Document data models and migration procedures for the release cycle

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MySQL in production
• Proven experience optimizing databases for mobile backend workloads
• Strong SQL scripting, indexing and query‑optimization skills
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated schema migrations

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud‑native database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos DB)
• Knowledge of data security best practices for mobile apps
