About the role

CloudWave Digital is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. As a senior Database Administrator you will own the AstraCache module, a critical caching layer that underpins real‑time analytics. You will drive the redesign of database architectures to meet stringent latency targets while ensuring data integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and refactor existing PostgreSQL schemas for the AstraCache pipeline, reducing query time by 30%.
• Implement automated failover using Patroni and configure streaming replication across three AWS regions.
• Design and tune MySQL read‑replicas to handle peak traffic spikes during promotional events.
• Develop MongoDB sharding strategy for session stores, documenting shard key selection and balancing procedures.
• Create CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI for schema migrations and backup validation.
• Produce performance dashboards in Grafana and set SLO alerts for latency and availability.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with MongoDB clustering and sharding.
• Linux system administration, scripting (Bash/Python).
• Proficiency with replication, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Strong understanding of high‑availability architectures.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS RDS and Aurora.
• Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
