About the role

AlphaEdge Tech is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, implement, and verify robust database hardening controls that align with industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing PostgreSQL configurations and identify security gaps
• Apply encryption at rest, column‑level masking, and role‑based access controls
• Integrate automated compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with DevOps to secure backup and replication processes
• Document hardening procedures and provide knowledge transfer to the internal team

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in cloud environments
• Deep knowledge of authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools for database provisioning
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB and MySQL security practices
• Certifications such as AWS Security or CISSP
