About the role

Vertex Analytics is expanding its data pipeline to empower operations teams with real‑time analytics. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, tune, and maintain the core database layer that feeds downstream reporting and monitoring tools.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement high‑availability PostgreSQL clusters for streaming data ingestion
• Optimize queries and indexes to support fast analytical workloads
• Automate backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery procedures
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate MongoDB and MySQL sources into unified pipelines
• Monitor performance metrics and resolve replication or latency issues

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Deep knowledge of replication, partitioning, and query optimization
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration and scripting (Bash, Python)
• Familiarity with data pipeline tools (Airflow, Kafka) and ETL processes

Nice to have

• Hands‑on work with MongoDB or MySQL in hybrid architectures
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and container orchestration
