About the role

NexGen Media is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Python Backend Developer to design, implement, and validate security controls across our services. You will work closely with DevOps and security teams to ensure compliance and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing Python codebases for security gaps and refactor vulnerable sections.
• Implement robust authentication, authorization, and input validation mechanisms.
• Build and harden RESTful APIs using Django, applying best‑practice security patterns.
• Integrate automated security testing into CI pipelines.
• Document security decisions and provide knowledge transfer to the internal team.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of Python backend development.
• Deep experience with Django and REST API design.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security principles (IAM, encryption, secret management).
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and secure data handling.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and security testing tools.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
