About the role
Northbay Systems is launching a performance and reliability overhaul of its flagship customer‑facing platform. As a Terraform Infrastructure Engineer you will lead the infrastructure redesign for the new "PulseGuard" module, ensuring fast, resilient service delivery across multiple AWS regions.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement Terraform code to provision a multi‑AZ VPC, subnets, and security groups for PulseGuard.
- Integrate AWS Auto Scaling groups and Application Load Balancers to meet latency targets under peak load.
- Migrate legacy CloudFormation stacks to Terraform, preserving state and minimizing downtime.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions that run Terraform plan/apply with automated policy checks.
- Implement monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana dashboards to track latency, error rates, and infrastructure health.
- Conduct performance testing using k6 and refine infrastructure based on results.
Must-have skills
- 5+ years Terraform experience, including modules and state management.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, RDS, ALB, VPC, IAM).
- Strong DevOps background with Docker containerization and CI/CD tooling.
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation and testing.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Kubernetes deployments on EKS.
- Knowledge of chaos engineering tools for reliability testing.
