About the role

Northbay Systems is building a data pipeline and analytics enablement platform for operations teams. We need an Android Developer to create native mobile components that surface real‑time metrics, trigger alerts, and let users interact with backend data flows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Kotlin‑based UI screens that consume REST/GraphQL APIs for pipeline status.
• Integrate Android app with analytics SDKs and push‑notification services.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to define data contracts and ensure secure data handling.
• Write unit and UI tests, and maintain CI pipelines for app builds.
• Optimize performance for low‑end devices used in field operations.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with Kotlin and Android SDK.
• Proficiency in Java for legacy module integration.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and offline data sync.
• Familiarity with Android Jetpack components and MVVM architecture.

Nice to have

• Experience with analytics platforms (Firebase, Mixpanel).
• Knowledge of data pipeline concepts and operational dashboards.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools for mobile (Fastlane, Bitrise).
