About the role
Ridgeline Software is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs an AWS Cloud Engineer to shape the core infrastructure from day one. You will work with a remote‑first team, defining scalable patterns and ensuring high availability for the upcoming service.
Key responsibilities
- Design and provision AWS environments using IaC (CloudFormation or Terraform)
- Containerize services with Docker and manage orchestration on ECS or EKS
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment
- Monitor performance, set up alerts, and optimize cost and security
- Collaborate with developers to embed DevOps best practices into the codebase
Must-have skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC)
- Proficiency in Docker containerization and orchestration
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD tooling, and infrastructure as code
- Linux system administration and scripting expertise
Nice to have
- Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway)
- Knowledge of security frameworks (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch or Prometheus
