About the role

BlueSky Ventures is building a data‑driven platform to streamline B2B services. We need a Backend Developer to design and implement core API services that power our upcoming feature set, ensuring high performance and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using NodeJS.
• Integrate PostgreSQL databases and optimize queries for speed.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define contract specifications.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Participate in code reviews and agile sprint planning.

Must-have skills

• Proficient in NodeJS and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL schema design and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of REST API design principles.
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of message queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
