About the role

Orbit Labs is building a robust data pipeline to empower operations teams with real‑time analytics. We need a Database Administrator to design, tune, and maintain the underlying databases that feed our analytics layer.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable schemas for PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MySQL supporting high‑velocity data streams.
• Optimize query performance and manage indexing strategies for analytics workloads.
• Set up automated backup, recovery, and monitoring processes.
• Collaborate with data engineers to integrate databases into ETL pipelines.
• Ensure data security and compliance across all environments.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience administering PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MySQL.
• Proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization.
• Familiarity with data pipeline concepts and ETL tools.
• Ability to script in Bash or Python for automation.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure Database).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) for database deployment.
