About the role

Summit Digital is preparing a major app store launch and needs a Database Administrator to ensure the mobile and backend data layers are tightly aligned. You will work with cross‑functional engineers to optimise schema design, data flow, and performance for a high‑traffic mobile app.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement database structures that support real‑time mobile queries.
• Synchronise data pipelines between the app backend and analytics stores.
• Monitor and tune performance for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL clusters.
• Develop backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with DevOps to automate deployments and migrations.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience administering PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL.
• Proven ability to optimise queries and indexes for mobile workloads.
• Knowledge of replication, sharding, and high‑availability setups.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database changes.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos).
• Understanding of mobile data caching strategies.
