Python Backend Developer for Multi-Region Payment System Integration

About the role

Orbit Labs is preparing a new app store release and needs a Python Backend Developer to ensure the mobile front‑end and backend services are tightly aligned. You will shape APIs, data models, and deployment pipelines that power a seamless user experience across iOS and Android.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust RESTful APIs using Django and Django REST Framework
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define contract‑first interfaces
• Optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries for high‑throughput traffic
• Write automated tests and maintain CI pipelines for rapid iteration
• Monitor performance and resolve production issues during the rollout

Must-have skills

• Strong Python programming experience (3+ years)
• Deep knowledge of Django and REST API design
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL performance tuning
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts

Nice to have

• Experience with containerization (Docker)
• Understanding of mobile app lifecycle and API versioning
• Exposure to cloud services (AWS, GCP) for scaling backends
