REST API Developer – Customer-Facing API Design

About the role

Keystone Digital is revamping a legacy production platform and needs a REST API Developer to design zero‑downtime migration pathways. You will work closely with product owners to translate modernization goals into reliable, high‑performance services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new REST endpoints that replace legacy calls without service interruption
• Refactor existing NodeJS services for scalability and observability
• Integrate PostgreSQL schemas to support new data models while preserving historic data access
• Write automated tests and monitoring hooks to guarantee zero‑downtime deployments
• Collaborate with DevOps to configure blue‑green release pipelines

Must-have skills

• Proven experience building production‑grade REST APIs with NodeJS
• Strong JavaScript fundamentals and async programming
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL performance tuning and migrations
• Understanding of zero‑downtime deployment strategies

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Background in legacy system modernization projects
