Senior Database Administrator Needed for End-to-End Database Migration

About the role

CoreData Systems is revamping a legacy production platform and needs a Database Administrator to ensure zero‑downtime migration. You will work closely with engineers to redesign schema, automate backups, and tune performance while the system stays live.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a zero‑downtime migration strategy for the existing database stack
• Refactor legacy stored procedures and optimize queries for modern workloads
• Set up continuous replication and failover testing across environments
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated schema versioning into CI pipelines
• Monitor performance metrics and resolve bottlenecks in real time

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production
• Proven experience with zero‑downtime migrations and replication setups
• Strong SQL scripting, indexing, and query‑optimization expertise
• Familiarity with containerized database deployments (Docker/Kubernetes)

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud‑native databases (AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos)
• Knowledge of Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure as code
