About the role

CoreData Systems is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the design, optimization, and migration of critical data assets for a high‑impact, short‑term project. You will ensure database reliability, performance, and security while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement migration strategies for PostgreSQL and MySQL environments.
• Optimize query performance and index strategies across relational databases.
• Configure and maintain backup, recovery, and high‑availability solutions.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot incidents, and apply patches.
• Document architecture, processes, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DB staff.

Must-have skills

• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL administration.
• Strong command of Linux server environments.
• Proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with backup, restore, and replication setups.
• Ability to script automation tasks using Bash or Python.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB for hybrid data solutions.
• Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure Database).
