About the role

NexGen Media is launching a new streaming platform and needs a Microservices Architect to lead a test automation uplift. The focus is to reduce regression risk before each release by designing a resilient, automated testing framework that integrates with existing microservices.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable test automation architecture for microservice endpoints
• Define contracts and mock services to enable isolated regression testing
• Collaborate with QA and development teams to embed automated tests into CI pipelines
• Guide refactoring of legacy services to improve testability and observability
• Document best practices and provide mentorship on automation strategies

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing microservice ecosystems
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for test environments
• Strong Java development background
• Track record of building automated regression suites

Nice to have

• Familiarity with contract testing tools (e.g., Pact)
• Experience in performance testing of distributed systems
