Senior MongoDB Specialist for Cloud-Native Schema Modernization

About the role

We are modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. As a MongoDB Specialist you will design and implement zero‑downtime migration strategies, optimize data models, and ensure high‑throughput queries for critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute live data migrations without service interruption
• Refactor schemas to support sharding and replica sets
• Implement indexing, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate MongoDB changes into APIs
• Monitor health metrics and set up alerts for latency or replication lag

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with MongoDB architecture, sharding and replication
• Proficiency in JavaScript/NodeJS for database scripting
• Strong understanding of data modeling and query optimization
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part‑time setup

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes for containerized deployments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database migrations
