Senior MongoDB Specialist Needed for Scalable Query Plan Overhaul

About the role

We are launching a greenfield SaaS product and need a MongoDB Specialist to design the data layer from scratch. You will shape schema, indexing strategy, and replication setup to support rapid feature rollout and high availability.

Key responsibilities

• Architect scalable MongoDB schemas for multi‑tenant SaaS workloads
• Implement sharding, replica sets, and backup procedures
• Optimize query performance and write efficient aggregation pipelines
• Collaborate with frontend and backend engineers to define data contracts
• Write automated tests and monitoring alerts for data health

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing production MongoDB clusters
• Deep knowledge of data modeling, indexing, and performance tuning
• Experience with cloud‑native deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Proficiency in JavaScript ecosystems and API integration

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GraphQL data sources
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for database migrations
