About the role
NexGen Media is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a MongoDB Specialist to design the data layer from scratch. You will work with a remote‑first team to create scalable schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity for a fast‑growing user base.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement MongoDB data models aligned with product requirements
- Develop efficient aggregation pipelines and indexing strategies
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate MongoDB with NodeJS services
- Set up monitoring, backups, and performance tuning processes
- Document data architecture and best practices for the team
Must-have skills
- Proven experience building MongoDB schemas for SaaS applications
- Strong knowledge of query optimization and sharding
- Familiarity with NodeJS, JavaScript, and RESTful API patterns
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Nice to have
- Experience with Atlas or other managed MongoDB services
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for database migrations
