Senior Python Backend Developer – Multi-Region API Design

About the role

NovaForge Tech is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a Python Backend Developer to shape the core services from day one. You will join a fully remote, first‑time‑startup team focused on building a high‑performing, scalable backend that powers a modern web application.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement micro‑services using Django and FastAPI
• Create robust, documented REST APIs for internal and external consumption
• Model and optimize data storage in PostgreSQL, including migrations and performance tuning
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Collaborate with front‑end, product, and DevOps peers through code reviews and agile ceremonies

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of Python development experience
• Deep expertise with Django or FastAPI for building APIs
• Strong SQL skills, especially PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization
• Experience with RESTful architecture, authentication, and caching strategies
• Proficient in Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to have

• Familiarity with async programming (asyncio, uvicorn)
• Exposure to containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Background in building SaaS products for remote teams
