Senior REST API Developer for Multi-Region Third-Party Integrations

About the role

Harbor Softworks is launching a brand‑new SaaS offering and needs a REST API Developer to design and deliver the core backend services. You will work with a remote‑first, agile team to create a scalable, secure API layer that powers the product from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement RESTful endpoints using NodeJS and JavaScript
• Design PostgreSQL schemas, write performant queries, and manage migrations
• Integrate third‑party services and handle authentication/authorization flows
• Write unit and integration tests, ensure high code coverage
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product owners to define API contracts

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building production‑grade REST APIs
• Proficiency in NodeJS, JavaScript (ES6+), and PostgreSQL
• Understanding of API security, rate limiting, and versioning
• Ability to write clean, documented, testable code

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or container orchestration
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines for backend services
• Knowledge of GraphQL as a complementary query language
